Created over the past two years, 100 FACES is a collection of digitally hand-painted portraits by Tiffa, made in the quiet spaces between larger works and projects. What began as a series of playful exercises in painting, experimentation and creative exploration gradually grew into a body of around 150 individual faces, eventually curated down to 100 favourites. Each one offered an opportunity to explore colour, form, texture and expression, without the constraints of a larger narrative or predetermined outcome. Despite returning to the same subject again and again, each face developed its own distinct personality. Together, they form a visual record of curiosity, experimentation and the ongoing process of honing her craft.

Rather than defining these personalities through individual titles, Tiffa simply numbers the portraits, leaving space for viewers and collectors to form their own connections and interpretations. Each face has its own identity, and part of its meaning lies in what others see within it.

Tiffa’s practice is rooted in a love of traditional painting and the tactile qualities of physical media, translated through digital tools. She works with digitally hand-painted brushstrokes, layering colour, texture and expressive marks to create work that feels as though it could have been made with paint, ink, pencil or collage. 100 FACES celebrates this approach, embracing imperfection, spontaneity and the simple pleasure of making. One hundred faces, each with its own character, connected by the unmistakable presence of the artist’s hand.
